Tonar Crystal Turntable Mat

The standard mats (usually rubber or felt) supplied by turntable manufacturers often have the annoying characteristic of absorbing (and thus masking) a lot of the sound stored in the grooves of records. The use of mats made from alternative materials is probably popular mainly for this reason: there is usually a lot to gain in terms of quality with such mats. 

The Tonar Crystal Turntable Mat is one such mat that can greatly improve the performance of your turntable: the sound becomes crystal clear and previously vaguely audible tones suddenly fall into place. This mat is only suitable for the more 'serious', heavier turntables. A Crystal Turntable Mat is made from polished, tempered glass and weighs about 1 kg. So be careful: if you want to use this mat on a very light turntable, you may damage the bearing, especially if you use an additional pressure weight. Tonar Crystal turntable mats have a lowered centre plate and provide an optimal connection between record and player.
